Kaoz Presents: Real Talk MPLS

A new approach in the fight against HIV/AIDS stigma, bullying & homophobia

Join us as we roll out this bold and innovative outreach strategy at the Kaoz Presents: Real Talk

MPLS Album Release Event, Friday October 28, 2011 from 6 – 9 p.m. at the Capri Theater –

2027 West Broadway Ave, N. Minneapolis.

“Real Talk MPLS is a strategic new approach to educating and reaching out to a generation
at risk and seemingly disconnected from the clear and present threat of HIV/AIDS and other
sexually transmitted diseases,” said Kevin “Kaoz” Moore, a Minneapolis based Hip Hop &
spoken word artist, actor & coordinator of Pillsbury House’s Health Education and HIV Testing
initiative. “It all began with a conversation I had last August with my fellow activist educator,
Juan Jackson of the H.A.S. program and Rob Yeager of the Minnesota Department of Health
about the current HIV rates in our state.”
Driven by the elevated HIV infection rates in youth ages 13-24, “Kaoz Presents: Real Talk
MPLS” is a compilation album showcasing local and national mainstream and independent
GLBT, Allied and Youth artists speaking out against HIV/STI stigma and complacency,
homophobia and violence within all communities. Using the anchor of Hip hop and popular
music as its root, Real Talk tackles many issues and realities that influence youth and
adult behaviors, with the intention of creating conversations, healing and learning within all
communities regardless of sex, gender, orientation or class.
